Corporate Retreats on Peninsula Papagayo: A Planner's Guide

The best team offsites do two things at once. They get people out of the usual rooms and routines, and they still give the group somewhere serious to work. Most destinations do one or the other. A resort ballroom is built for meetings and nothing else. A remote lodge is beautiful and impossible to get real work done in. Why the Peninsula Works for This

Three things matter for a corporate retreat, and the peninsula has all three.

It is genuinely easy to reach. Liberia International Airport (LIR) is about 30 to 45 minutes from the peninsula and takes direct flights from a long list of US and Canadian hubs. For a group flying in from different cities, that short transfer after landing is not a small thing. People arrive ready rather than exhausted.

It is private and secure. Peninsula Papagayo is a 1,400-acre gated community. For a leadership team discussing anything sensitive, or a company that simply wants its people together without the public around, that matters. A villa inside the gates is a private compound, not a block of hotel rooms with strangers in the hallway.

It has the infrastructure. Reliable high-speed internet, the Arnold Palmer golf course, the beaches, the new Papagayo Park, the restaurants, and a full menu of guided experiences are all on the peninsula. The work can be serious and the downtime can be real, without anyone getting in a car.

The Right Villas for a Group

Not every villa suits a retreat. The two things that change for corporate groups are headcount and the need for actual workspace. These are the properties we point companies toward.

Villa Enoki is the most retreat-ready home in our collection. It is a six-bedroom cliff-edge property above Bahía Culebra that sleeps sixteen, with floor-to-ceiling Pacific views, a cliff-edge infinity pool, a media room, a detached wellness studio, and, critically, two executive offices built into the house. That last detail is rare. Enoki was effectively designed for a leadership team that needs to work as well as gather.

Villa Yume is the other strong single-villa option, with six bedrooms, ten beds, and room for fourteen guests. Four king suites and a queen cover the core group, and a media room converts to a sixth bedroom when the headcount calls for it. It is a comfortable base for a team that wants everyone under one roof.

Multiple Las Terrazas villas together. This is the option most planners do not know exists. Several of our Las Terrazas properties, including Villa Tortuga, El Sueño, Monkey Villa, and La Experiencia, sit in close proximity within the same community and can be rented together. For a larger group, that means you can house everyone within a short walk, use one villa as the gathering and meeting space, and give people their own quarters in the others. It scales the retreat well beyond what any single house holds, without spreading the group across the peninsula.

Making the Retreat Run

A villa is the base. The retreat itself, the parts that make it worth flying a team in for, gets arranged through our trusted on-the-ground partners. Working with them, we can coordinate the elements a corporate group actually needs:
